The BOOKS link supports any item that is a book or magazine, etc. If any of the items listed here relate to another AREA, you might find the same item listed twice. Examples would be an audio/video cable listed at the A/V and CABLES links, a book listed at the BOOKS and EDUCATE links, or an electronic item that also relates to telescope control listed at the ELECTRO and ASTRO links, etc. Newest item listings (largest item numbers) are at the TOP of each AREA MENU page.

Item 121: SOLD An original set of CCD Astronomy published by S&T, until its demise. From issue 1 through issue 12. From Summer 1994 to Winter 1997. I believe it is complete and that the set includes all the issues? If not, let me know. Not sold separately. I would like $25 for all 12 issues

Item 120: SOLD An original set of Observatory Techniques magazine. From issue 1 through issue 22. I believe it is complete and that the set includes all the issues? If not, let me know. Not sold separately. I would like $50 for all 22 issues

Item 119: SOLD An original set of Amateur Telescope Making Journal. From issue 1 through issue 16. I don't know if this is all the issues or if I just had these extras laying around. You tell me. I would like $25 for all 16 issues

Item 118: SOLD An original set of Telescope Making Magazine (not ATMJ, offered below). From issue 1 through issue 46. I believe it is complete and that the set includes all the issues? If not, let me know. Not sold separately. I would like $75 for all 46 issues

Item 117: SOLD About 30 6"x 4" microfiche transparencies of the Palomar Sky Survey, and a complete master reference book of the transparency set. Unfortunately, the book is complete, but the transparencies are far from complete. They are only a sampling. The MicroSky microfiche set was offered in 1991 by Deen Publications and updated from the original Palomar Sky Survey to the 2000.0 Equinox. Even without the transparencies, the book is a great reference atlas, in itself. I am only guessing, but I would imagine that the complete microfiche set is still available, somewhere? Maybe not? I would like $35

Item 116: SOLD A collector's Atlas for your library? The AAVSO Variable Star Atlas, prepared by Charles E. Scovil, edited by Leif J. Robinson, editor S&T. Complete boxed set. Booklet, preface and key to symbols included. Copyright AAVSO 1980 by permission Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory. First printing 1980. This is a first edition. Only one. I would like $95

Item 115:A collector's Atlas for your library? Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (SAO), Star Atlas of Reference Stars and Nonstellar Objects, prepared by the staff of the SAO, forward by Joseph Ashbrook, editor, S&T. Booklet and transparent overlay. Equinox and epoch 1950.0. Boxed set and indexed charts. Complete as published. Printed by The MIT Press, Cambridge, MA, and London, England. Copyright 1969. Only one. I would like $150

Item 106: "Earth and Sky Marvels of Astronomy, Wonders of the Universe" by Clarence R. Smith, B.S., M.S. Original copyright 1938. Printed 1941. Good condition. Hardbound. 9" high. 384 pages. I would like $15

Item 105: "An Introduction to astronomy" by Robert H. Baker, Ph.D. Second Edition, Third Printing. First Published 1935, Reprinted 1942. Very good condition. Hardbound. 9" high. 315 pages. I would like $20

Item 104: SOLD "Amateur Telescope Making," Book One, Scientific American. This is the classic "set of three." Unfortunately, I only have one. Actually I have all three, but you can't have them. This is just an extra Book One. Tenth Printing, Copyright 1951. Very good condition. Hardbound. 7.5" high. 497 pages. I would like $15

Item 103: SOLD "Recreations in Astronomy" by Henry White Warren, D.D., with directions for pratical experiments and telescopic work. 83 illustrations and maps of stars. Published 1886. Original copyright 1879. Very good condition. Hardbound. 7.5" high. 284 pages. I would like $50

Item 102: "The Nature of the Universe" by Fred Hoyle, Fellow at Saint John's College, Cambridge. Copyright 1950 by Fred Hoyle. Very good condition. No other copyrights listed. Could be first edition? Hardbound. 7.5" high. 142 pages. I would like $12

Item 101: "Elementary Lessons in Astronomy" by J. Norman Lockyer, F.R.S. London Macmillan and Co. and New York, 1889. Fair condition. Lots of illustrations and pictures. Hardcover and light spectrum pull-out inside the front cover. 6.5" high. 363 pages. I would like $25

Item 100: These two books/pamphlets are a real piece of history. The first is "Adler Planetarium and Astronomical Museum" An Account of the Optical Planetarium and a Brief Guide to the Museum, by Philip Fox, Fourth Edition, September 1937. Many illustrations and pictures inside, as shown by the open picture at right. The second is "Beyond the Solar System" by Bertha Morris Parker. First pubished in 1942. This is a 1953 edition. I would like $25 for the pair.

Item 99: Three classic astronomy books. Astronomy Made Simple, by Degani is probably a first edition because the published date is 1955, and there are no other dates inside the cover. The price on the cover in the lower right is $1.45. This proves that inflation works. The second book is Star Maps for Beginners, by Levitt and Marshall. Ninth printing 1952. Original copyright 1942. the third book is The Stars, by H. A. Ray. A very popular classic. First published in 1952. Copyright renewed by Margaret Ray in 1980. This is a more recent 1988 publication. All three or nothing. I would like $20 for all three.

Item 98: Got kids? Build your own Saturn V Rocket. Haven't got kids? Build these realistic giant rockets for yourself. Great display piece! Cut-out and assemble a Saturn V rocket. The picture on the cover makes the assembled rocket look about 4 or 5 feet tall. I could not find the finished height in the book. Maybe I'm just blind? The cut-out pages are heavy card stock. I have two of these assembly books. I would like $10 each, which is the published price in 1982 - 26 years ago.

Item 97: I've got a lot of astrobooks. Did I say I've got a lot of astrobooks! What you see here is just the "tip of the iceberg." Of course, I'm not selling all of them. The top ones are "How to Use an Astronomincal Telescope." These two are new stock. "The Moon Observers Handbook," hardbound SOLD. One of the "How to" books has been SOLD. Do the math. For the ones shown at left, I would like $5 each.

Item 96: I've got a lot of astrobooks. Did I say I've got a lot of astrobooks! What you see here is just the "tip of the iceberg." The top ones are "Handbook for Aerospace Education." I've got a few of them, but they are not in new condition. They have a little water damage from sitting around for a while. Very readable though. NGC 2000.0, The Teaching of Astromony, Astromonical Centers of the World, The OMNI Space Almanac (two). For the ones shown at left, I would like $5 each or three for $10.
