QUALITY ASSURANCE NOTE: It has come to my attention that others use less than adequate couplings on their products that induce flexure. They look very similar to VSI's exclusive docking/coupling systems. They are NOT! VSI's exclusive docking/couplings are not like any other flimsy, flexure-ridden connections used on other products. A good analogy would be a comparison between a (less than) $50 and a $300 (and up) rifle scope. The lesser rifle scopes looks identical to the more expensive ones but, in operation, the differences are very apparent, optically and [especially] mechanically. Let the buyer beware, you receive quality and functionality only when you are willing to expend an appropriate dollar amount. VSI's proprietary flared flange (circular dovetail) docking inserts have extremely thick-wall construction and are locked in place by three set screws opposed by 120 degrees. When you tighten these set screws against this special [angled] flange, it not only pushes directly against the insert ring, but it also pushes laterally to compress the ring inwards against external and/or internal shoulders, which locks it in place like a good weld - rock-solid! - PBVS
2" format Output Adapter/Reducer with Quad-Lock
feature: This 3.1" diameter by 1.5" deep reducer slips in the
top of the 3" ALPHA/OMEGATOAD's moving tube and is secured by 3 set screws
opposed by 120 degrees. This reducer also has a 15 degree flange cut in the
perimeter to secure the reducer into the moving tube. With our exclusive
Quad-Lock feature, you can secure a 2" barrel-nose adapter into the focuser
like it was welded in place. No other focuser offers this degree of security
and rigidity.

3"-24tpi Threaded Male to 3.1" VSI Flanged Output
Adapter: Designed to adapt any 3" ALPHA/OMEGATOAD's moving
tube output to APOGEE large-format CCD cameras using their standard 3"-24tpi
(female) CCD camera input. Adapter input is similar to the A312R above,
incorporating the 10 degree flanged ring, but fit flush with the top of the
focuser's moving tube. Hint, screw the ring onto the component first. Then
insert the ring into the focuser's moving tube and tighten the three set
screws (do not overtighten). This method will allow the ring to be locked
into the threads by compression. Remove by loosening the set screws first.

Female Threaded Output Adapter:
Designed to adapt your ALPHA/OMEGATOAD's moving tube output to large-format
threaded couplings on the following refractors. Input is similar to the A312R
above, incorporating the 10 degree flanged ring, but fit flush with the top
of the focuser's moving tube. Threads are available in three formats,
AstroPhysics 2.7"-24tpi, Meade 2.7"-16tpi and Takahashi 72mm-1mm. Hint, screw
the ring onto the component first. Then insert the ring into the focuser's
moving tube and tighten the three set screws (do not overtighten). This method
will allow the ring to be locked into the threads by compression. Remove
by loosening the set screws first.

2.156"-24tpi Male Output Adapter for SBIG's STL
11 Megapixel CCD Camera: This output adapter is threaded for
the proprietary SBIG 2.156"-24tpi CCD camera format. It is also similar to
the above adapters, incorporating the 10 degree flanged ring, and fits flush
with the top of the TOADLOADER's moving tube, except for the male 2.156"-24tpi
thread which protrudes outward 0.25 inches.

3.1" Flange to 3.25"-16tpi Male Output Adapter,
Hex 2 to TOADLOADER: This special output adapter will allow
you to dock any Meade 3.25"-16tpi large-format accessory to the output [moving
tube] of your ALPHATOAD or OMEGATOAD. However, it's main purpose is to dock
our Giant Hexagonal 2 turret to the moving tube output of our 3" TOADLOADERS
(pictured right).

3.1" Flange to 2.9" Flange Coupling Adapter,
Sidewinder/Targetron/Zerotator to TOADLOADER: This back-to-back
flanged coupling adapter will allow you to couple a Sidewinder, Targetron
or Zerotator to the output [moving tube] of your 3" ALPHA or OMEGATOAD focuser,
via the three set screws that are opposed by 120 degrees around the edge
of the TOADLOADER's moving tube output.
